In 1661 Louis XIV commissioned his architect Le Vau and his landscape architect Le Nôtre to transform the castle of his father, as well as the park. - Take Boulevard Périphérique Ouest (Paris West Ring Road).
- Go towards Versailles/Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines/Rouen.
- Take A13/E05.
- Take exit towards Versailles-Centre/Versailles-Château/Vaucresson.
- When you reach Boulevard de Jardy, turn slightly on the left hand side.
- Continue onto Avenue du Général Pershing.
- When you reach Avenue des États-Unis, turn slightly on the right hand side.
- When you reach Avenue de Saint-Cloud, turn slightly on the right hand side.
- Turn left into Avenue de l'Europe.
- Turn right into Avenue de Paris.
